Our friend and local artist, Angela, collects oyster shells on her walks from beaches around Charleston including Folly, Edisto and Isle of Palms. She cleans them and hand paints a variety of different subjects on the shells inspired by the Lowcountry and South Carolina. Each shell and painting vary in shape, coloring and finish according to the artist's vision and mood along with the natural contours of the shells. Some of the ornaments may or may not be highlighted in gold and a location may be written on some. Each shell is hand tied with a piece of raffia for hanging. No two are alike and each is a work of art. We recommend visiting our Charleston storefront location as we regularly maintain a large selection.
